Fruit Custard / Fruit salad : very easy, simple , tasty dessert for today.
This is my Mom's recipe. This recipe is so simple that whenever we have more banana at home which we don't eat, then my mom prepares this fruit salad. I used to call it as Banana salad to make fun .

Preparation time : 15 mins
Waiting time : 1 hr
Serves : 4-5

Ingredients :

  • Milk : 1/2 litre + 1/4 cup
  • Sugar : 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla Custard Powder :3 tbsp
  • Mixed Fruits (chopped in to small pieces) : 2 cups(I used banana, apple, pomegranate, grapes)
  • Dry Grapes and Raisin : 1/4 cup

Preparation :

  • Chop all the fruits of your choice into small pieces.
  •  Add 1 tbsp sugar to the chopped fruits and mix it, keep it covered in a bowl and refrigerate it.

Method :
  • Boil 1/2 litre of milk.
  • Add 1/4 cup of sugar to it and mix well. Allow the milk to boil.
  • When the milk is boiling, in other cup , mix 3 tbsp of custard powder with 1/4 cup of cold milk(either boiled or raw milk)
  • When the milk is about to boil, add the mixed custard powder in to milk slowly spoon by spoon with regular mixing.
  • Keep on stirring until it thickens.
  • Remove from the heat and allow it to cool ( take a bowl of cold water and place the milk-custard bowl above it to cool )
  • Once its cool, keep it in refrigerator. ( about 45 mins )
  • Custard will solidify and become thick
Now when you are ready to serve --
In a bowl add about 3-4 tbsp of fruits, 3-4 tbsp of custard and add dry fruits , mix it and serve.

Note : If you mix both fruits and custard together and refrigerate it will become watery. So its better to mix when you are ready to serve. Till then keep it separately.

You can also add peeled orange to this. It will taste yummy. Peel the orange, remove inside skin and seeds and make each slice in to 3 parts and then add.
