Ingredients:
For the Cake:
Method:
- All purpose floor/Maida : 1 and 1/2 cup
- Butter : 1 cup
- Sugar : 1 cup ( powdered )
- Egg : 4 small eggs/ 3 large
- Baking soda : 1tsp
- Cocoa powder : 4 tbsp
- Choco chips : 1/2 cup
- Coke : 2 tbsp
- Fresh Heavy cream : 1 1/2 cup
- Powdered Sugar : 1/2 cup
Sugar syrup:
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Water: 1 cup
Others:
- Pineapple: 1 cup (chopped - small pieces)
- Grated Chocolate: 1 cup
- Sieve together flour,Cocoa powder and baking powder and keep aside.
- Beat sugar in butter till it becomes a smooth paste.
- Beat egg in a separate bowl and strain it and then add it to the butter in small quantities,
- Then Add flour 1 tbsp at a time and keep on mixing till it becomes smooth paste.
- Add choco chips and mix it.
- Preheat oven to 325 F
- In a baking dish , grease the sides and bottom with butter and sprinkle flour over it.
- Add the cake mixture which we prepared into greased baking dish.
- Once the oven is preheated , place the cake in oven and bake it for about 40 mins( until tooth pick inserted at the center of cake comes out clean )
- If its not cooked keep it for some more time - 10 mins.
- Once the cake is ready, allow it to cool. Then cut it horizontally in to 3 or 4 slices/layers.
When the cake is in oven , let us prepare frosting.
- In a bowl take about 1 1/2 cup of heavy cream, add 1/2 cup sugar or more depending on how much sweet you need. I used half cup. It was sweet enough.
- Place the bowl over ice and then whip it continuously. The cream will thicken and you'l get nice frosting after about 5-10 mins. You can use electric machine for whipping cream.
- Place it in refrigerator to cool.
Now comes the decorating part:
- Place one layer of cake on a plate . Sprinkle about 2 tbsp of sugar syrup to the cake evenly. The cake looks moist and it becomes soft when you do this .
- Then add frosting over the cake and spread it evenly. Add grated chocolate over it. Then add chopped pineapple.
- After this place another slice of cake over this and follow the same instructions as we did for the first slice.
- And after the place the 3rd layer. Sprinkle Sugar syrup
- as above and then add little thick layer of frosting and sprinkle grated chocolate.
- Then decorate pineapple
- on top as you need.
- Chill it in refrigerator until you serve.
* I used fresh cream in the beginning. I was not able to prepare icing with that. It tasted bad too. Then i bought whipping cream powder, added water and prepared icing.So choose proper cream while preparing cake.
I usually use Heavy cream.
